Join Clean Earth, and lets make this world a better place together.Job DescriptionOverview: The Human Resources Manager is a key resource to managers and employees across Clean Earth, providing assistance and support in recruiting, hiring, talent management, training and development and employment practices. The HR Manager will coach, advise, encourage, develop and manage as a regular part of the daily role, while continuously ensuring that Clean Earth is respected as a great place to work, build a career and develop business and professional partnerships.This position reports to the HR Director and collaborates with a team of 4 (VP of HR, HR Director, HR/Benefits Coordinator and HR Associate). Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Talent Management: Support and advise managers and department heads in workforce planning, performance management, succession planning, employee training & development and career pathing. Develop/maintain/enhance company-wide onboarding, training and development programs as needed.
  • Recruiting: Assist hiring managers in developing appropriate job descriptions, building job profiles, posting and recruiting for positions. Act as first interviewer for key roles; provide guidance and support during the hiring selection process. Facilitate the offer process.
  • Compliance: Support and maintain legal and organizational compliance as it relates to internal audit activities, SOX audits, etc. Provide appropriate training and resource support to ensure compliance needs are met.
  • Labor Law: Consistently research and maintain current knowledge of local, state and federal labor laws; partner with external legal counsel where appropriate to handle issues as they arise. Assist managers in building appropriate labor law awareness and remaining on the "right side of the law".
  • Employee Relations: Support and guide managers with various employee relations efforts and policy, including employee counseling, investigations, corrective action and related matters. Provide positive, beneficial, high quality and effective email, phone and in-person support to employees and managers across Clean Earth.
  • Affirmative Action and EEO: Lead company compliance with governmental reporting requirements, including but not limited to EEO-1 reporting, desk audits, Affirmative Action reporting, investigations, manager training, etc.
  • Benefits Administration: Act as escalation resource with HR/Benefits Coordinator and HR Associate to effectively manage benefits issues, leave management, disability and related programs.
  • Employee Communications: Manage employee communications program, in partnership with VP of HR
  • Mergers and Acquisitions: Provide HR support as needed through acquisition-related activities, including due diligence, integration planning and new company onboarding.QualificationsEducation and Technical Requirements
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field
    • 3-4 years of prior experience in an HR Manager or HR Generalist role; experience as the primary generalist for an organization or business unit
    • Sound knowledge as an advanced user in a Human Capital Management System (such as ADP) and/or Applicant Tracking System (such as SmartRecruiters)
    • Prior experience handling employment relations and HR business processes required
    • Prior experience managing recruiting and/or training activities preferred
    • Excellent knowledge/understanding of employment law, recruiting & hiring practices Communication and Leadership Skills
      • Able to work with and influence internal clients, including employees, managers and leadership team members
      • Ability to listen effectively, acknowledge and embrace multiple perspectives and deliver proactive, comprehensive and beneficial solutions to various challenges
      • Creative thinker with ability to consider out of the box solutions Additional InformationThis role will require 20-30% travel to our processing facilities across the U.S. (approximately 1-2 trips per months of 2-3 days) as well as occasional travel to conferences and training programs.Clean Earth offers salaries commensurate with experience and an excellent benefit package including company-paid health insurance, company-paid life insurance and disability programs, and a 401(k) with company matching.
