JOB TITLE:FRONT END MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION:Employees job description will be to manage the Customer Service / Front-end department. Through employees professionalexperience, he / she will be required to apply management skills to the specific needs of the store, including without limitation to perform the following functions personally or through the proper direction of others and possess the following abilities:

Complete understanding of all front-end procedures for cash control and accurate accountability.

a. Staffing of cashiers.

b. New and continuing education of cashiers.

c. Settling cashiers.

d. Settling the house.

e. Troubleshooting reconciliation problems.

f. Proper ATM procedures.

g. Making the deposit to be collected by Company contracted armored car service.

h. Requisition of change.

i. Accurate completion of weekly sales sheet.

j. Maintaining organization of the front end.

k. Properly handling any malfunctions of the front-end system by contacting the POS vendor or the EFT vendor.

l. Facing and overcoming the challenges of maintaining order between cashiers and customers through professionalism and courtesy.

m. Accountability procedures for cigarettes, US Postage Stamps, and other various items that are counted, tracked and controlled like cash.

n. Assist in the in-Store functions of the shop-and-delivery service.

ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING KEY-HOLDING GUIDELINES:

a. Without prior authorization and unless in an emergency situation, employee shall not enter or exit the store alone.

b. Employee will have all keys necessary to open, close and manage the store, (the Keys)

c. Employee will be given an alarm code for the proper activation and de-activation of the alarm system.

d. Employee will be responsible for opening and / or closing the store as scheduled by properly following opening and closing procedures

e. Employee will be trained by the Store Manager to follow opening and closing procedures.

f. Employee must report any problems with Keys or alarm functions immediately to the Store Manager.

g. Alarm Code is to be kept CONFIDENTIAL.

h. Keys are to be kept in employees sole and absolute possession while employed by the Company (i.e. keys are not to be left in a lock or loaned to another employee)

Oversee as well as being able to properly order, purchase, pricing and rotation of merchandise procedures for HBA and GMD departments as well as responsibility for writing the HBA and GMD orders utilizing the FIFO (First In First Out) rule in managing inventory and merchandising.

Ordering candy and other department inventory and supplies to maintain sufficient inventory of each.

Complete understanding of proper receiving procedures.

Complete understanding of submission of paperwork to the Executive Office.

Properly staffing the Front End of the Store through effective scheduling to meet the needs of the Store by maintaining the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction within budget requirements. Employee will be trained in the use of the schedule tracking system, (Proxus), currently used in the Store. Employee will be required to input the Front End schedule in the Proxus system and may be required to input schedules for other departments as well.

Enforcing the policies set forth in the employee manual.

Manager on Duty (MOD) responsibilities.

While MOD, proper direction of department clerks using good communication skills.

Awareness of loss prevention procedures.

Maintain store cleanliness of the department to be in compliance with the codes established by the City of Philadelphia Department of Public Health.

Assist in the effective management of the PLU file to maintain compliance with the PLU Scanning code title 70 Chapter 5. This is available at ************************************************************

Dedicated and invested in creating a warm and safe environment for customers and store employees.

Must possess basic math skills.

Must have a sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment at all times with all levels of employees.

Must have the ability to understand and implement verbal and written instruction.

Must be cross-trained as a cashier.

Participate in Company sponsored management continuing education and training courses that may take place periodically.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Familiarity and willingness to comply with all company policies pertaining to the position including, without limitation, punctual and reliable attendance.

Capability in using computers and programs such as Word and Excel.

The ability to read and understand an income statement.

The ability to calculate a gross profit margin and set retail pricing to meet profit margin objectives.

Employee has no physical condition which will inhibit employee from carrying out tasks necessary to complete employees job description which may include, without limitation, stock work and standing, walking, bending, and climbing throughout the entire work day and the ability to lift, stack and maneuver objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.

This list of duties is illustrative and inclusive, yet not exhaustive.

HOURS PER WEEK:Fluctuating, as scheduled with a minimum of Forty (40) hours per week.

WORK WEEK:Hours are to be completed in a schedule that is to be determined by the store manager to suit the needs of the store. Weekends, nights and holidays may be included in scheduled hours. This is a guideline with the understanding that employee is expected to do whatever it takes to make sure that the job gets done. All extra efforts are looked upon positively when reviewed.
