Job DescriptionThe position of Practice Information Management System (PIMS) Specialist is a new position at Community Veterinary Partners reporting to the President, COO. The Specialist will apply technical knowledge and problem-solving skills by working with corporate operations leadership and our hospital management and staff to optimize practice management software utilization. Collaborates directly with multiple power users and provides technical guidance, knowledge, and support to resolve complex issues.The Specialist will work with vendors, the end users in the hospital and other technical teams at the practice management systems we currently operate with to translate business and consistency needs into technical systems solutions. The Specialist will configure systems, triage and analyze performance issues, and make recommendations as to the best practices that will ensure consistent and effective use of the systems across the enterprise. The Specialist will have opportunities to improve and take existing processes to the next level, and determine how new technology will work with CVP’s processes.Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the configuration of various PIM software utilized by our family of hospitals.
  • Responsible for identifying areas of optimization and standardization of PIM software platforms.
  • Will travel onsite to train hospital staff, configure the software during the training and installation process, assist the practice on the go-live day, and continue the client relationship beyond implementation to ensure future rollout activities and training are successful.
  • Provide support (retrieve and resolve) for incidents and service request fulfilments for hospital PIMS
  • Support the training and on-boarding of new hospitals, as it relates to the use of their PIMS system
  • Provide support and facilitate passing the issue required stakeholders (e.g., vendors, system architecture)
  • Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, and presenting findings to the operations team.
  • Manage with vendor via a Known Error list and feature enhancement list
  • Coordinate any testing for major releases to ensure service meets customer expectation to continue support
  • Proactively monitors end-to-end processes for supporting the PIMS
  • Plan, schedule and control the beta and full releases to impacted hospitals of major releases (including distribution of relevant communication & training)
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.
  • Participate in project meetings, propose different routing options/solutions available based on project requestQualifications:
    • A Bachelor's degree or greater in engineering, computer sciences, math, information systems or a related field
    • 3-5 years of technical resolution experience
    • Experience in a hospital or medical field technology and revenue cycle
    • Working knowledge of at least one of the following Veterinary Practice Management Systems; Cornerstone, Impromed/Infinity, Avimark, or DVMaxx
    • Ability to learn new software
    • Strong analytical and reasoning skills
