Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is seeking an organized,
proactive, and detail-oriented executive assistant to support the
Senior Vice President and Director of Studies (SVP, DOS). This role
is essential in supporting the SVP, DOS with administrative tasks
and priorities. The EA, DOS will play a key role in assisting with
the day-to-day operations of the Studies department, coordinating
cross-functional initiatives, and ensuring the smooth execution of
projects.Please note that the start date for this position would be
in mid to late June 2025.Major Responsibilities
- Provide high-level administrative support to the SVP, DOS,
including calendar management, meeting preparation, correspondence,
registering and escorting guests, and travel coordination.
- Track departmental expenses, manage the SVP, DOS's corporate
credit card, and coordinate invoice payments and
reimbursements.
- Provide a bridge for smooth communication from/to the office of
the SVP, DOS with leaders and staff across the organization.
- Draft and edit communications, presentations, and reports on
behalf of the SVP, DOS.
- Attend meetings, when appropriate, with the SVP, DOS, and take
notes for follow-up and/or circulation.
- Handle ad-hoc projects as assigned by the SVP, DOS, which may
include coordinating cross-departmental initiatives or assisting
with high-priority tasks.
- Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned or
required.QualificationsEducation and Experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
- An interest in CFR's mission.Related Skills and Other
Requirements
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong
writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
- The ability to meet demanding deadlines with a positive
attitude and interact with members and the public in a professional
manner.
- The ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a
fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with tracking expenses.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong attention to
detail.
- A team player with capacity to take initiative, demonstrate
flexibility, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Related experience that required judgment.Required Application

- The full-time annual compensation range for this position is
$75,000 - $85,000, depending on experience.
