Brief Description:The Director, Market Access Marketing is responsible for the leadership of Jazz's flagship product within the Sleep Business Unit (BU). - Responsible for leading, developing, and executing on Market Access strategy for the BU in support of brand objectives. Along with a direct report, this role will be charged with successfully supporting the brand vision & strategy to ensure appropriate patients have access to therapy. -Given the evolving US Healthcare system and a dynamic disease area, this role will require an experienced Marketer with a range of Market Access knowledge that can work cross-functionally with the various internal Market Access teams, including Payer Account teams, Field Access and Reimbursement teams and, where appropriate, the Wholesaler/Pharmacy Account team to ensure that they are equipped with programs, tools, and messaging to optimize customer engagement. This position will report directly to the Executive Director - Market Access Marketing, Training & Development within the Market Access Organization.Essential Functions

  • Represent the Market Access organization through the annual brand planning process; Lead in the creation/evolution of Business Unit (BU)/Brand Market Access strategy, in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, to achieve brand objectives as measured by Market Access Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide cross-functional strategic input to Pricing & Contract Strategy, Finance, Trade, Government Affairs, Policy, Cross-Brand, External Medical Relations, HEOR, Patient Assistance Programs, Field Sales, and the Global Market Access/Value group.
  • Leverage knowledge and experience in Payer segments, HEOR concepts, and clinical data and effectively collaborate with internal cross functional partners across Market Access, Payor Value & Outcomes, HEOR, Medical Affairs, and brand marketing to optimize Payer Value Proposition.
  • Develop deep customer & market insights through, but not limited to, leading primary and secondary market research efforts, internal/external performance data analytics, and monitoring formulary & policy data that inform key business questions/trends/planning.
  • Lead the development and execution of tactical initiatives that prioritize strategic alignment and demonstrated results, while maintaining a pursuit of innovation supporting Payer Account Executives, Access & Reimbursement Managers, Field Sales, and Patient Support Services.
  • Represent the Market Access organization as the subject matter expert on Payer customer beliefs & behaviors to inform cross-functional planning and execution in support of BU pipeline objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Market Access Pull-through Effectiveness cross-functional team to align on market access pull through strategy to support field teams.
  • Oversee and assess formulary coverage metrics and healthcare plan policy requirements, focusing on Jazz medicines and their market competitors; effectively communicating these measures within the organization
  • Lead the development of POA/Kick Off Meeting Market Access planning and workshops, in collaboration with Market Access Training & Development, primarily supporting Field Sales and Access & Reimbursement Managers.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience within the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry including Market Access Marketing, Pricing & Contracting, Payer Account Management, Brand Marketing and/or Field Sales.
    • Strong understanding of the current US specialty biopharmaceutical market access / reimbursement landscape as well as traditional market access data/providers
    • Ability to assess future Market Access and disease area trends and anticipate critical needs of the BU/brand to ensure future success.
    • Experienced in identifying market research needs, leading research projects, determining critical insights, and translating insights into results.
    • Experienced in people leadership and proven ability to motivate colleagues at all levels to execute on strategy.
    • Demonstrated background of strong strategic planning and innovative tactical development
    • Ability to think strategically across the full business and to translate strategy into tactical implementation.
    • Results oriented with excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Excellent project management skills including proven abilities to manage multiple stakeholders, meet tight timelines, and produce consistent, outstanding work products on budget.
    • Strong teamwork, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership skills, including the ability to build stakeholder trust, gain alignment and navigate ambiguity.
    • Proven experience in rigorous prioritization that leverages budget and resources to meet overall business objectives.
    • Experience in successful managing of vendors relationships, work quality, and budget
    • Experience in working within Neuroscience Disease areas preferred
    • Experience in lifecycle management preferred.Required/Preferred Education and Licenses

            FOR US-BASED CANDIDATES ONLYJazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive.
            For this role, the full and complete base pay range is $184,000-$276,000. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.
            At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz's Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
