Job Description:

Working with a regional food distributor seeking a Senior Director of Operations to oversee their distribution and transportation operations. You will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our distribution network to ensure the efficient and cost-effective delivery of products to our customers. You will play a critical role in leading a high-performing team and managing all aspects of our distribution operations to meet our company's goals and customer satisfaction targets. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the distribution strategy to achieve operational excellence, cost efficiency, and customer service excellence. Align distribution goals with the overall company objectives. Team Leadership: Manage, coach, and develop a team of distribution managers, supervisors, and staff. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork. Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of the distribution process, including inventory management, order fulfillment, transportation, and warehousing. Ensure smooth and timely product deliveries. Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement process improvements, automation, and best practices to enhance distribution efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality. Quality Control: Maintain strict quality control standards to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of products. Implement quality assurance measures and monitor performance. Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with distribution partners, carriers, and suppliers. Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to ensure cost-effective and reliable services. Budget Management: Develop and manage the distribution budget, closely monitoring expenses and optimizing resource allocation. Data Analysis: Utilize data-driven insights and KPIs to assess and improve distribution performance. Implement data analytics tools to make informed decisions. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks within the distribution network, taking necessary precautions to minimize disruptions and losses. Reporting: Generate regular reports and updates for senior management, highlighting distribution performance, achievements, and areas for improvement. Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• Proven experience in a senior management role within distribution and supply chain operations.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful distribution strategies.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in data analysis and the use of distribution management software.
