Job Description:

Our client is currently seeking a Packaging Engineering Manager for a large manufacturing client near the Norfolk, VA area.Responsibilities:1. Represent the Engineering group with a high degree of autonomy in interfacing closely with internal and external customers.2. Accountable for supporting operations at the process through monitoring the performance of assigned processes and responding to requests for support.3. Lead the resolution of packaging and processing issues involving profitability, capacity, product quality, and safety to expand competitive advantage, increase profitability, and enhance quality and safety.4. Maintain knowledge of new equipment, materials, and packages to improve cost, quality, and performance of packaging ensuring "Best Practices" are utilized across the organization.5. Provide overall leadership or support of capital improvement projects including the development of project requirements, project justification, equipment flow sheets and process line layouts. Accountable for new equipment startup, operator training, written operating procedures and specifications, and conformance to project justification criteria.6. Responsible for timely and effective communication of project activities to superiors and to internal customers, including Department and Facility Managers, Corporate Marketing, and project team.7. Support development of equipment and operational standards, promote sharing across factories, manage key strategic suppliers and play an active role supporting the business and markets in their journey towards operational excellence.8. Contribute to development of standards for filling & packing machines/units according to LEAN/TPM principles.9. Coordinate and interact with key suppliers and internal customers on identifying the right machines for the right applications: from User RequirementsQualifications & Requirements:*BS in Engineering discipline and 5+ years management experience.*Problem solving approach*Project management involving cross-functional teams*Supplier management experience*Strong TPM and LEAN principles experience*Ability to lead project from idea to industrialization*Excellent written and oral communication skills*Ability to thrive in a team atmosphere**All qualified candidates are encourage to email current resumes to jhoms judge.com**UI 691321
