Job Description:

TheCategory Manager - Packagingis accountable for the procurement of all packaging direct spend.This role will support procurement strategy development and implementation across the business. The individual will ensure quality of materials, competitive pricing, adherence to company policies, procurement processes and endeavors related to the operation of a proactive and strategic Procurement team. This position is accountable for developing and maintaining a seamless relationship with strategic vendors and oversight for vendor quality programs to meet our standards and specifications.Primary Responsibilities:Manages inventory for packaging to achieve established targets.Monitors Days Forward Cover and Weeks of Supply levels working together with Logistics to ensure that inventory is available to support production.Review material demand reports and prepare purchase ordersDevelop Strategic Supplier Relationships to jointly drive value beyond cost, leveraging supplier capability to deliver both top and bottom line business benefit.Develop commodity category management strategies for cost reduction and value enhancement to result in tangible benefits to the bottom line with sound knowledge on internal analysis and external market analysisDrive development of

for all categories to leverage supplier negotiationsEvaluate strategies based on changing market conditions and provide inputs during strategic sourcing activities, including internal and external analysis and negotiationsDrive development of cost savings/value add initiatives with suppliersEnsure consistent and accurate cost saving tracking to support the Supply chain targetsSupport the development and implementation of best practice Procurement work processes across the Procurement organization and across the interfaces with other business functions (e.g. Finance, R&D, Sales, and supply chain).Ensure quality of materials, competitive pricing, adherence to company policies, Procurement processes and endeavors related to the operation of a proactive and strategic Procurement Business Unit.Ensure a deep understanding of supply markets and cost driversCoordinate Supply Chain initiatives including working capital management and minimizing obsolescenceThorough understanding of the industry and markets that impact cost, supply and demandProcurement packaging lead for the new Item commercialization processDevelop and manage a team of packing buyersJob Complexity:Responsible for an excess of $XXMM of packaging spend with high complexityMust have a solid understanding of global market dynamics and risk management strategies available to protect supply and budgets.Maintaining Supplier Relationship Management programsDeveloping packaging category strategies that effectively balance procurement team requirements and ensure consistent and quality availability of supply.Administering solid control systems around purchasing and risk management activity.Ensure all contracts are issued timely and accurately.Qualifications:Bachelor s degree requiredMinimum of five (5) years of related procurement experienceFood manufacturing and packaging buying experienceProvide ability to build strong supplier relationships and influence long-term supplier technology and resource allocationMaster negotiator, consistently achieves competitive advantage/beneficial outcome in complex negotiationsDemonstrated ability to create and manage extremely complex relationshipsKnowledge of purchasing and new industry trends and approaches as well as an understanding of the commodities that impact cost and supply
