Over time, we have become one of the largest providers of veterinary health care in the country, welcoming over 230,000 visits to our clinics each year.The Opportunity: Vice President, Philadelphia
As the nation's largest non-profit network of low-cost veterinary clinics, Emancipet is on a mission to make veterinary care affordable and accessible for everyone. We know that people love their pets and will do what's best for them when given the opportunity to do so. There are over 60 million owned pets in the US who cannot access or afford veterinary care. Emancipet is here to change that. Our national fundraising team is tasked with raising the subsidy (through individual and corporate donations) necessary for Emancipet to provide high-quality veterinary care at a low cost for our amazing clients.Emancipet is looking for a pet-loving, strategically-minded, major gifts leader to share our mission and impact across the Philadelphia region, engaging new regional prospects with the capacity to make gifts of $2,500 and beyond. You bring drive, ambition, and the goal of significantly advancing our mission through relationship building and revenue generation.We are seeking an experienced professional fundraiser full of enthusiasm and heart who is eager to build their own regional program and strategy and then execute on that strategy. This person describes themselves as a social justice advocate, goal-oriented, a good communicator, and a storyteller.You will join a joint national fundraising and marketing team spread out across our three regions: Austin, Houston, and Philadelphia. The major gifts work is guided by each of our regional Vice Presidents who own the regional strategy. Our national development and marketing team will bolster your efforts through their targeted marketing and communications efforts, administrative support, and a growing direct response program.Your daily tasks fall primarily into three buckets: major gifts; fundraising and planning 1-3 annual event(s); and regional marketing and brand awareness. Working with our existing national development and marketing staff, you will creatively and ambitiously build relationships and brand awareness with new donors, local city officials, businesses, pet lovers, and more.
Salary Range: $90,000-$103,000Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and build a major gifts portfolio with individual and corporate donors who will help you hit your annual regional fundraising target of $250,000.
  • Actively seek and commit to speaking at various venues for the purpose of increasing beneficial partnerships, donations, and/or service recognition.
  • Lead the strategy and planning for 1-2 regional donor events
  • Identify, build, and enhance relationships with key partners that are mission aligned.
  • Grow Emancipet's regional brand recognition.
  • Build a profitable and favorable rapport with public and private donors, policymakers, the media, and the community at large.
  • Create strong working relationships with city officials to produce, review, and implement city contracts that further Emancipet's ability to serve.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with staff, donors, clients, vendors, partners, and the community as a whole by promoting Emancipet's mission and values constantly.
  • Create and maintain regional budgets in conjunction with the National Office.
  • Work closely with the national development and marketing departments in proposals, presentations, and other collateral materials as required.
  • Accurate and timely completion of required reports, maintenance of data in the CRM system, and any other information requested by the National Office.
  • Create clever and compelling proposals and correspondence with donor interests.
  • Accept additional job assignments and participates in project work as requested.Ability to:
    • Make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations to diverse groups
    • Be flexible with conditions and changing circumstances
    • Learn and operate Emancipet CRM system (Salesforce)
    • Work collaboratively with others
    • Multi-task without losing focus or being frustratedWorking Conditions:
      • Occasionally to frequently attend events not held during normal business working hours/days
      • Occasionally travel (up to 25%)
      • Occasionally work in a clinic that cares for cats and dogs
      • Frequently work on a laptop or computerRequirements:
        • 5+ years of major gifts experience with a proven track record of raising $500,000 from an individual as well as successful experience managing a diverse and growing portfolio of up to 85 donors.
        • 3+ years of major donor prospecting experience, including excellent research, organizational, and time management skills.
        • Knowledge of the Philadelphia donor landscape
        • Demonstrated excellence in social engagement with strangers, board members, and clients.
        • The capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
        • Alignment with Emancipet's foundational belief, mission, core values, and bottom lines.
        • 3+ years of event planning experience, working with venues and vendors, running logistics, and managing volunteers.
        • Experience managing at least 2 direct reports
        • Hustle mentality while maintaining mission alignment and above all, kindness as a motivator.
        • Goal-oriented and driven by revenue targets.
        • Hands-on experience Salesforce or a similar donor CRM
          Travel & Workplace:
          Regular travel for donor meetings, to the Philadelphia clinics in NE Philly, and to regional events, Yappy hours, tabling events, and more. During the onboarding stage, Emancipet would like you to spend the first 2 weeks working out of different clinics so you can learn about the clinics, staff, culture, and client experience.Salary & Benefits:
