POSITION DESCRIPTION: UTP Apprentice ManagerThe Urban Technology
Project (UTP) is an initiative of the School District of
Philadelphia in partnership with Launch of Philadelphia that
empowers Philadelphia youth with the skills and experience required
to enter the technology field. JOB SUMMARY:The Apprentice Manager
of the Urban Technology Project reports directly to the School
District of Philadelphia's Executive Director of I.T.
Apprenticeship and oversees the I.T. Apprentices' professional
development. This includes supporting and managing 25+ apprentices,
ensuring compliance with program and grant requirements, and
ensuring apprentice success in the program through career
development, frequent communication and support with identifying
and attaining career opportunities The Apprentice Manager role in
partnership is solidly executed in coordination with the School
District of Philadelphia's- Urban Technology Project, & Launch of
Philadelphia. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Administration
- Support apprentices assigned to schools, businesses and other
organizations throughout Philadelphia
- Lead recruitment campaign, placement, training, development,
and exit processes for apprentice
- Conduct monthly site visits to each Apprentice Employer site
throughout the year
- Maintain and cultivate relationships with employer
partners
- Lead weekly staff meetings
- Serves as the day-to-day contact between The School District of
Philadelphia- Urban Technology Project Admin Team & Launch of
Philadelphia
- Plan, organize and oversee apprentice training pathways and
track apprentice success in attaining industry certifications
- Assist with enrollments for new hires, including preparation of
packets and participation in orientation, as needed.
- Maintains bi-weekly reporting and reconciliation to ensure
accuracy of all additions, deletions, and miscellaneous changes to
member; works in collaboration with Urban Technology Project Admin
Team, AmeriCorps and Launch of Philadelphia
- Assist with the planning and delivery of career readiness
trainings
- Provide apprentices with performance feedback, intervention and
corrective action plans as needed
- Prepare high level program reports for various audiences
- Collect, review & process payroll
- Execute special projects
- Other duties as assigned
- Assist with general recruitment (e.g. employment ads,
prescreening, and job fairs).
- Assist with separations and exit interviews.
- Special projects as needed and assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND
SKILLS:
- 3-5 years of leadership experience in youth development and/or
workforce development
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Project Management skills
- Collaborative team player
- Positive "can do" attitude
- Outstanding customer service to partners, colleagues,
stakeholders & members
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to travel to regular meetings at The School District of
Philadelphia, Launch of Philadelphia & apprentice members site
placements.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google & ADP
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and
management
- College degree or equivalent work experience ALSO---REQUIRED

- 3+ years of office environment work QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge Apprenticeships
- Knowledge of the Technology Field
- Fluent in the use of GSuite Tools (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets,
etc.)
- Completion of a Bachelor degree in HR or Business from an
accredited college or university.
- Three to five years of administration/education experience
