Job Description:
Help young adults experiencing homelessness find a place to
live. Great opportunity for a recent grad interested in helping
others and learning about social services!What You'll DoYou'll be a
key member of a small team dedicated to helping young adults
experiencing homelessness. Reporting to the Social Services
Manager, you'll manage a caseload of about 20 people ages 18 to 24
and complete intakes for eligible clients, ensure that required
documentation is received and processed, and facilitate a rapid
housing search in a time-sensitive manner so that clients are
rehoused as quickly as possible.You'll go with your clients to view
apartments; be the point person for apartment inspections, housing
linkages, lease signings, and renewals; and help with tasks related
to moving into a permanent home. You'll also provide
landlord/tenant mediation services to negotiate on your clients'
behalf for preferential rents, help with on-going challenges, etc.
Additionally, you'll conduct workshops and arrange for outside
sources to educate clients on a variety of matters related tot
obtaining and maintaining permanent housing.You're a great fit for
this role if you have:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent skills and
experience.Strong oral, written, and negotiation skills and the
ability to advocate successfully for your clients.Excellent
organizational and documentations skills and the ability to manage
multiple priorities in a time-sensitive manner.Ability to work in a
fast-paced and demanding environment, take initiative, be
dependable and resourceful, and pay keen attention to detail.It
would be helpful (but not required) if you have:Knowledge of and
experience with providing services to people experiencing
homelessness and the ability to help clients achieve permanent
housing and self-sufficiency goals.Valid Pennsylvania driver's
license (but the ability to take SEPTA public transportation
