The DC Inventory Control Manager position interacts with
individuals at many levels of the organization and will work both
independently and in conjunction with other internal and external
stakeholders to drive accountability and improvement. Serves as the
main point of contact to ensure proper controls exist for the
movement, adjustment, tracking, monitoring and reporting of
Distribution Center inventory. Responsible for the identification,
root cause analysis and correction of inventory issues including
the development of respective SOP's for sound inventory
Performs onsite reviews and audits of the Distribution Center
functions and Pool Points focused on the improvement or
identification and correction of controls governing the movement
and/or accountability of inventory.
Communicates directly with our Distribution Centers, Pool Points
and Stores regarding any issues or areas of concern noted during
audits or as directed by Inventory Control, Asset Protection or
Shortage Control Sr. Management. Actively supports initiatives,
projects, and strategies with focus on on-going performance
Provides leadership, coaching and training to the Inventory Control
Analysts, Operations, Pool Points and Stores where necessary to
support objectives and initiatives.
+ Manage the activities, task priorities, work assignments,
staffing and equipment resources for the Inventory Control
+ Coordinate and manage the Year End Inventory process for the
regional distribution centers.
+ Safe guard assets and ensure accurate valuation of inventory
through the identification of inventory related issues,
investigations, root cause analysis and the correction of
deficiencies. Continuous performance and monitoring of all
+ Report and monitor inventory shrinkage against annual goals while
participating in the analysis and strategic alignment with
operational partners to meet business objectives and deliver
quantifiable results through process improvement initiatives.
+ Analysis and correction of inventory shrinkage and allocation
between the regional distribution centers and respective stores
related to receiving adjustments and correction of store shipments
+ Establish and maintain "Best Practices" related to inventory
control functions for the regional distribution centers by
reviewing operational processes, developing and testing system
enhancements, creating and updating standard operating procedures
and providing ad hoc reporting to support Supply Chain, Finance and
+ Partner with Finance and Operations to effectively resolve vendor
payment issues with distribution center receiving departments while
providing feedback to Operations regarding the receiving
+ Calculate month end financial accruals related to Trailer Yard
Inventory and Goods Not Done in partnership with Inventory
+ Coordinate, process, approve and communicate inventory
adjustments related to receiving errors and other inventory related
functions to correct and properly report distribution center and
+ Develop, implement and monitor Key Performance Indicators,
Internal Controls and Record Retention while partnering with
internal and external auditors in documenting and testing financial
and operational controls to ensure compliance and remediation of
deficiencies related to SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) controls
+ Responsible for provisioning/de-provisioning user access and
performing periodic user access reviews to ensure compliance with
user access security standards.
+ Partner with the Marketing, Buying and Allocations groups to
coordinate and oversee the fulfillment and shipment of product sold
or donated to charitable organizations.
+ Manage the identification, reporting, financial adjustment and
liquidation or disposal of overstock, discontinued and damaged
product in house, in transit and at the pool points.
+ Responsible for managing employee resources through hiring,
training, evaluation, coaching, developing, disciplining and
