Job DescriptionJob Purpose The Director, EREC Monitoring & Assurance role is responsible for developing, implementing and managing the operational and tactical plans to ensure the continuous monitoring, assurance and tracking of EREC risk based activities including risk profile, control gaps and organizational priorities within CSL enterprise-wide (including Behring, Plasma and Seqirus) and across all businesses and functions globally. The incumbent will support the Global Head of EREC Monitoring & Assurance and across EREC by implementing strategies as directed in order to ensure that that the EREC leadership team and Business leaders receive meaningful, strategic insights that enable proactive, preventive and remedial measures to be taken to manage risks and protect CSL's near term, medium term and long term interests more effectively across all parts of the Company. The incumbent will be responsible for the monitoring and assurance of Enterprise Risk, Ethics & Compliance activities across the enterprise, defining controls, identifying, and communicating issues and recommend and support developing remediation action plans across the CSL business globally. The role closely collaborates with Senior Risk Leaders, Senior/Risk Experts and other key senior business stakeholders in the business and ensures and monitors execution and closure (as appropriate) of remediation against agreed action plans by the relevant business stakeholders, including conducting routine ongoing checks of business progress. The role will proactively and regularly identify opportunities for improvement and value add in existing processes and systems (in collaboration with I&T) to enhance the monitoring and assurance program at CSL and implements those in accordance with agreed plans. The incumbent keeps up to date with 'best practices' and emerging trends in the external environment that may impact CSL and actively brings ideas, risks and issues to the Global Head of EREC Monitoring and Assurance for discussion. - RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • The Director, EREC Monitoring & Assurance role is responsible for developing, implementing and managing the operational and tactical plans to ensure the continuous monitoring, assurance and tracking of EREC risk based activities including risk profile, control gaps and organizational priorities within CSL enterprise-wide (including Behring, Plasma and Seqirus) and across all businesses and functions globally.
  • Conduct routine assessments of core business operations to ensure design and operating effectiveness of controls and proactively and regularly identifies opportunities for improvement in all areas of accountability and implements in accordance with agreed plans. Keeps up to date with monitoring and assurance 'best practices' and emerging trends in the external environment that may impact CSL and actively updates monitoring plan based on new emerging risks and issues. -
  • Responsible for supporting the development and implementing an annual oversight and risk-based monitoring and assurance programs including audit plans (e.g. controls effectiveness assessment program and monitoring plans) in accordance with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and related EREC frameworks/policies/standards and working with EREC Leads and the business. Periodically review and update the monitoring scope to account for changes to the business risk profile and priorities. Support the coordination of the (annual) risk monitoring and assurance program to ensure Senior Risk Leaders and Experts across the entire business (with subject matter expert (SME) support from EREC Business partners) document key risks in line with EREC policies, standards and frameworks. Leverage EREC functional risk assessment results to drive monitoring and control testing plan prioritisation.
  • Responsible for providing central oversight, monitoring and assurance of core business operations and associated processes and practices across the enterprise as part of the risk monitoring program to identify and address potential risk and control gaps. Includes establishing and executing a global process to monitor and track risks or control gaps, ensuring appropriate documentation is included. This includes regular monitoring and assurance to ensure documentation of any material weaknesses and gaps are logged as individual issues. Support the risk and control issue/gap remediation and action plans with the Global Head of EREC Monitoring and Assurance and Senior Risk Leaders and Experts across the entire business. - Responsible for conducting routine checks to monitor the recording of risk acceptance or prioritization of issues as well as monitoring the execution of risk and control issue remediation and business progress against action plans including closure as appropriate in the CSL risk management technology solution. -
  • Supports routine assessments of the company's risk culture, ethics, and compliance culture as part of the risk monitoring program in collaboration with the GERECLT, including supporting the conduct of root cause analysis of any issues or gaps and calculating risk ratings. Track culture assessment issues, gaps and actions and coordinate remediation action plans with the business. Monitor execution of remediation and business progress against action plans.
  • Responsible for implementing the global process to coordinate collation of key controls from the business to prepare for controls testing. Ensures routine control testing assessments include control design effectiveness and operating effectiveness evaluation and coordinates and tracks remediation action plans. Ensures execution and closure (as appropriate) of remediation against agreed action plans by the relevant business stakeholders including conducting routine checks of business progress.
  • Responsible for executing the program, in collaboration with the Global Head of Data Privacy, to monitor business progress against data breach and incident response remediation plans by conducting routine checks.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a library of templates for monitoring and assurance content in a central holding repository.
  • Support Speak Up Hotline monitoring and analytics for the bi-monthly Global Legal reports and half yearly ARMC reporting, in collaboration with the EREC Reporting role. Supports the Global Head of EREC Monitoring and Assurance on an as needed basis to monitor and track Speak Up investigations.
  • Until the new EREC Third Party Risk Management role is employed, support the Global Head of EREC Monitoring & Assurance in implementing an oversight program for monitoring third party risk assessments and associated controls post implementation of the Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) technology solution and process, with input from EREC Functions and other internal stakeholders under the TPRM process (e.g. Finance, Procurement, Cyber security, Supply Chain, Trade Sanctions Compliance etc). Monitor and independently review select third party risk assessments from the TPRM process to ensure compliant third-party onboarding practices and third-party risk management, including confirming the existence of required certifications and approvals, is consistently being performed. - Build upon and maintain relationships with Senior Sourcing and Procurement and other key third party risk management business stakeholders.
  • Supports the Global Head of EREC Monitoring and Assurance in other projects and responsibilities, as assigned, that may be global in nature or region specific. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management and/or Finance; advanced degree preferred. Experience
      • 10+ years in a life sciences Audit & Monitoring team of an Audit Firm and/or in a life sciences, technology, or manufacturing organization with 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in risk monitoring.
      • Experience in compliance or risk management
      • Knowledge of pharmaceutical/ healthcare law, regulations, and codes of conduct
      • Prior experience within large global and matrix organizations i.e. across regions/countries, functions, multiple jurisdictions preferable.
      • Experience designing and effectively and successfully implementing global and/or regional programs, strategies, methodologies, processes at a corporate level, gaining buy in from the business
      • Fluency in English (both in oral and written communication). - Fluency in other languages preferred. Competencies
