Job SummaryRDK-V CPE test management function is crucial to optimally deploy high quality RDK software version to millions of video platform customers!On our team, we are responsible for testing and certifying timely, high quality software releases across number of devices. We lead all aspects of the complete product test management cycle which includes review and maintenance of test cases, coordination between Development, Test, PM and Product teams, scheduling software test cycle, scrubbing defects and bringing critical defects to program transparency. This team member will also be responsible for assessing software quality release over release, and taking vital action to meet high standard!Responsible for the selection of testing equipment and managing to a capital budget for the test threads. Manages and provides oversight for the execution of detailed testing efforts on new and existing products and services. Monitors testing activities. Implements and maintains technical quality assurance and control systems and activities. Specifies the implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, accuracy and reliability of company products. Oversees the review of engineering designs for quality requirements and considerations. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Develops and manages performance metrics. Reviews end user experience. Manages team which may include exempt and non-exempt employees. Provides subject matter guidance to employees as required. Develops processes and procedures to drive department efficiencies, assist in development and meeting of, departmental budget.Job DescriptionResponsibilities:Own the customer experience - think and act in ways that put our customers first, give them flawless video content viewing experienceWin as a team - make big things happen by working together and being open to new insightsEvaluate video product features, focusing on customer experience, performance and reliability areas, and support the definition of test requirements and planning for manual and automated testingConduct customer experience testing on the video products and software releases, driving improvements in test methods.Act is liaison to non-RDK development and test organizations, assuring that the E2E test plans, procedures and automation provide cross-discipline seamless test coverage.Analyze QA, Trial and Field performance/reliability data on the video program, and apply learnings in driving improvements in test coverage, product quality, and customer experience.Perform detailed design and analysis of internal QA performance and reliability testing, driving product and test improvements throughout the QA and Trial phases.All above responsibilities will initially focus on the Platco product, but will evolve to cover all CPE Video products as the Platco program matures and reaches a steady state.Core ResponsibilitiesManages a Quality Assurance team responsible for the planning and successful completion of product and service testing.Provides guidance to the Quality Assurance and Product and Development teams in identifying product and technical requirements. Serves as primary point of contact between the Quality Assurance team and Product and Development teams.Collaborates with various departments to ensure timely delivery of all documents required to support testing.Directs the development of test cases and detail test scenarios for Quality Assurance Engineers. Identifies potential test applications and automation tools.Monitors testing, including tracking test deficiencies, the development of improvements and gathering metrics to report progress to leadership team.Ensures product problems are properly identified and prioritized in the formal defect tracking system and change control processes to determine release-readiness.Provides technical leaderships and consultation with regards to test philosophies and methodologies, practices, procedures and techniques.Coordinates internal and external software testers and facilities. Works with vendors to troubleshoot problems when necessary.Participates in product teams and the software development life cycle process.Collaborates with leadership team to identify, define and measure departmental key goals.Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
