Job SummaryResponsible for managing and leading a team of Engineers in the identification of complex problems and the development of individual algorithms to solve them. Manages designing, testing and researching activities of future products and applications. Manages the implementation of both strategic and technical initiatives. Ensures staff is current with industry trends and new and emerging technologies. Manages team which may include exempt and non-exempt employees. Provides subject matter guidance to employees as required. Develops processes and procedures to drive department efficiencies, assist in development and meeting of departmental budget.Job DescriptionComcast is focused on actively growing and developing its overall wireless efforts. The Wireless Strategic Development organization began by developing the Xfinity Mobile product offering and is now focused on the next step. We are expanding our team so that Comcast can continue driving growth and innovation in wireless through the evaluation of new products, offerings, partnerships and technology. By leveraging Comcast s core strengths of 27+ million customer relationships, 22+ million WiFi hotspots, state of the art network assets, spectrum holdings and other assets, we look to accelerate Comcast s wireless future.An experienced technical team member responsible for testing wireless devices and applications in the research and development phase, leveraging the following technologies (5G, CBRS, Dual SIM, eSIM, MP-TCP and WiFi). Collaborate across the wireless organization be a part of a small team of UE quality engineers to develop device requirements and execute field and lab testing efforts.Duties and Responsibilities- Test new pre-release firmware and software Xfinity Mobile and Xfinity WiFi products- Collaborate internally to develop testing processes, methodology, and tools- Execute test plans to validate functional, performance, and business requirements - Triage, debug, document and track issues discovered during testing- Design, document, and implement unique test beds, automation frameworks, and tools to support mobile device, software, and 802.11 WiFi AP testing. - Support mobile field trials - Produce and provide summarized test results/reports- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. - Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary. - Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Required Qualifications- Strong knowledge and Experience with Network Emulators, Channel Emulators. - Experience with developing Network emulator based Protocol conformance / RF Conformance test cases and test scripts. - Strong knowledge of wireless access technologies including LTE, 5G and WiFi. Strong Protocol level expertise in 5G and 4G is required.- Experience with scripting and test authoring using Network emulators (Experience with Keysight or R&S Network Emulator preferred).- Experience with Field test plan development and management- Education Level - Master s Degree or equivalent- Field of Study - Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent- Years Experience - Generally requires 6-9 years related experience- Proven experience providing technical testing of mobile device hardware and firmware - Strong knowledge of wireless access technologies including LTE, 5G and WiFi- Working knowledge of software and hardware architectures for both IOS and Android based devices- Hands on experience testing mobile devices in a lab environment.- Experience developing device test automation - Experience with Qualcomm (QXDM, QCAT) and / or Accuver test tools, post processing, and analytics- Experienced technical writing skills sufficient to produce test cases, test plans and technical diagrams.- Technology Development & Management / 3-5 years - Technology experience working with the top MSOs, Telco, or major wireless vendor in the U.S.- Expertise with WiFI, CBRS, 5G, and LTE- Operational experience with Octoscope, Keysight and Spirent test tools, preferredDisclaimer:
