This leader will be responsible for oversight and management of a global portfolio of internal and external technology transfers, including new product introductions, supply chain expansion projects, and implementation of process and system improvements. This role will have a wide focus requiring an understanding of how to integrate the activities of numerous areas of technical, operational, and business expertise and align them toward accomplishing common goals.QualificationsPrincipal Accountabilities: Develops and maintains a global center of excellence with best practices, strategies and framework for technology transfer based on current regulations, industry standards and industry practices for biopharmaceutical products. Guides the strategy and resourcing of key outsourced activities such as cell banking, analytical testing or characterization studies. e.g. contribute to development of contracts and scopes of work.Provides leadership and direction for implementing new standards, cultural change and harmonization across global sitesEstablishes cross-functional roles, responsibilities, and global matrix team model and provides oversight and co-ordination for the generation of documents describing tech transfer policy or procedures, interfacing where necessary with Process engineering, Operations, QA, Regulatory Affairs and other functional leaders.Collaborates with department heads and governance committees to manage a portfolio of tech transfer projects and ensure integrating with other portfolio objectives, such as capital projects, external partnerships, and regulatory strategies.Develops and maintains a master schedule, metrics, and budgeting and resource forecasts for technology transfer project activities.Prepares and presents strategies, proposals, and progress reports to senior management, scientific committees and regulatory bodies.Establishes and maintains a Center of Excellence for technology transfer by establishing a high-performing team of tech transfer experts and leading the development of guidelines, tools and competencies based on internal know how, industry best practices and current regulatory guidance.Establishes and maintain a culture of learning and continuous improvement through capturing lessons learned and enabling cross-project collaborationDevelops and maintains a global center of excellence with best practices, strategies and framework for technology transfer based on current regulations, industry standards and industry practices for biopharmaceutical products. Responsible for development of staff, including motivating in a manner that promotes the achievement of CSL's business goals and objectives.Establish performance goals and strategic/operational objectives for direct reportsCoach, counsel, and appraise performance of personnel.Develop staff competencies & capabilities to enable sustained success and career developmentPromotes high employee engagement and a positive work environment.Responsible for organizational design, resource requirements and staffing decisions. Recruit, retain, train and develop the team.Education:Undergraduate degree in Engineering or other related technical field. Related Experience:10+ years working in development, commercialization, and/or operations of pharmaceutical products and processes with 5+ years of experience in biotechnology process transfer.Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects and cross-functional teams.Strong communication, negotiation and conflict management skills to influence technical experts and stakeholders at all levels in the organization.Demonstrated experience in managing, organizing, developing and deploying best practice frameworks, processes, tools and templates for complex projects and cross-functional teamsInvolvement in cross-functional, multicultural and international teamsSpecial Training:PMP certification and Lean training are a plus.Competencies:Proven leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills by demonstrating the following competencies at the enterprise level:Customer Orientation (Internal/External):Creates companywide strategies to stay ahead of industry-related changes.
