Job Description:

Adept Group is recruiting a Senior Packaging Engineer to provide packaging consultant support to a world leader Food client to support its consumer products division. The position will be onsite at our client;s location in the Greater Baltimore area. This engineer will be responsible for packaging projects which include selection of materials, determination of performance requirements, setting quality standards, creating packaging specifications and coordinating all activities with a range of business partners. This function requires a combination of technical and business knowledge, project management and cross-functional team operation. -RESPONSIBILITIES:Interacts with all levels of management, works cross-functionally, participate in project planning activities and provide technical guidanceProvide package design, development, material selection and commercialization services which includes conducting appropriate validation testing to confirm performance and creating comprehensive specificationsSupports project efforts that are moderate in scope and complexity, accountable for deliverables and milestonesActs proactively on projects, plan and prioritizes work to ensure deadlines and customer expectations are metManages parallel paths, cost containment, operational efficiency and problem-solving effortsEnforces established standards, controls and processes -EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Packaging Technology or relevant technical disciplineMinimum of 7 years of packaging development and project management experience as part of a cross functional team within the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industryApplied knowledge in the areas of plastics, flexibles/laminates corrugated and labels for various applicationsCreative problem-solving skillsAttention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal skills, business sense and commercial awarenessAbility to prioritize work and manage multiple project elements at a timeFood industry experience with manufacturing plant environment and quality assurance -BENEFITS:Competitive compensation packaging including bonus opportunitiesHealth insurancePaid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)Training and development opportunities
