Job Ad Template OU.LOCATIONContinuous Improvement Engineer:Responsible for delivering Value Improvement Process cost savingsand driving lean engineering management of manufacturing throughoutthe organization; partner with leaders to identify improvementopportunities and drive improvement projects that support and alignto strategic business objectives; engage function leaders andemployees in focused lean engineering effort; conduct current stateValue Stream analysis of customer needs and business priorities -identify and deliver on strategy improvement opportunities thatresult in cost savings; analyze and evaluate process improvementideas and techniques using a variety of computer software programsto facilitate development of lean LRP (long range planning) strategyand vision; utilize advanced improvement methodologies to driveresults towards achieving our VIP (value improvement process)target; serve as lean resource, champion and subject matter expert;support employee training and development efforts; perform trainingon lean tools, including Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, ProblemSolving, 5S, Material Flow, SMED, etc.; facilitate Kaizen events andmanagement projects across multiple businesses; work to establishand improve standard work, management systems, and key businessprocesses.Lean Facilitation Skills:The Lean Facilitators are expected to achieve substantialresults in a variety of areas of operational excellence throughreduction of waste. They are a respected leader in the organizationand successfully advocate continuous improvement. Outcomes ofthe role's impact will include:Organizational achievement of sustainable strategic objectives,including those relating to:Lead time reductionsOn-time deliveryCost savingsQualityManufacturingMaturity of the culture of continuous improvementEfficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing processes,business processes, and thinking processesIn this role, key responsibilities will be:--- Leading all phases of continuous improvementprojects using formal methodologies including DMAIC, PDCA, DMADV,Kaizen events and RCCA (root cause corrective action)--- Capturing, qualifying and prioritizing theimpact of continuous improvement ideas --- Translating strategic objectives intooperational plans --- Teaching, mentoring, and coaching others in theorganization in the topics of continuous improvement and eliminationof waste--- Engaging with individuals throughout theorganization, including manufacturing personnel, engineers,executives, and professional staff to drive continuous improvementactivitiesKey Leadership Competencies and Measures:--- Ability to deploy knowledge and skills attainedin a lean accreditation program--- Can lead and achieve improvements without director formal authority--- Demonstrates ability to drive waste out ofcomplex and sometimes ill-defined situations--- Willing to dive into details when necessary andget your hands dirty--- Works effectively across traditionalorganization boundaries of function, position, and other differences--- Works well in team environment, with soundnegotiation and people solving skills --- Moderate and adaptable analytical skills --- High emotional intelligence with respect toorganizational change--- Comfortable and proficient with the MicrosoftOffice Suite (excepting Access)Minimum Requirements: --- Minimum of 2-4 years' related experience with aBachelor's Degree--- 3 years' experience using lean tools, includingKaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Problem Solving, 5S, Material Flow andSMED.--- Ability to travel 10% --- This position requires access to technology,materials, software or hardware that is controlled by export laws ofthe US. Hired employees are required to provide proof of USCitizenship. --- Security:Preferred Requirements:--- Accredited Lean Facilitator or equivalentcertification--- Experience in Aerospace & Defense field--- Bachelor's degree in either IndustrialEngineering or Manufacturing Engineering--- 3 years manufacturing engineering experience. --- Demonstrated success as a change agent--- Experience in the development of lean LRP (Longrange planning) strategy and visionSecurity:All applicants must be a U.S Citizen or U.S Person as defined byITAR (a lawful permanent resident or someone who is a protectedindividual as defined by 8 U.S.C.1324b(a)(3)).
