Job DescriptionKinetic Ceramics (KC) designs, develops, and manufactures next-generation pumps, valves, and precision movement systems using piezoelectric technology. From the first total artificial heart to the first piezoelectric fuel injectors, our company has a 50-year legacy of transforming industries through the practical application of superior technology and innovative design. At the core of everything we build is our proprietary piezoelectric actuators with power density, speed, control, and reliability impossible to match using conventional technologies. We are growing rapidly and need talented engineers to help us create new and exciting products which make a significant impact on the world. We are looking for a talented and driven Senior Mechanical / Product Developmemt Engineer to help design, develop, and build and bring our next generation fluid movement systems.Job Description:

  • Develops innovative piezo-based pumps, valves, actuators, and other products. Takes responsibility for developing new concepts, creating 3D CAD models, and producing prototypes
  • Documents components, designs, processes, and tools
  • Collaborates and provide guidance to other engineers and/or engineering staff
  • Supports sales team as necessary to develop proposals, define customer requirements, and create new product specifications
  • Transfers new designs from research and development into production. Oversees the writing of work instructions and training of operators. Assists with development preventative maintenance schedules
  • Looks for opportunities to improve operations; recommending policies and procedures
  • Reports to senior managementCoordinate activities between:
    • Manufacturing Team
    • Suppliers
    • CustomerRequired Skills/Qualifications:
      • Must be a "can do" engineer who wants to make a difference in the world by applying excellent engineering to create new solutions to complex problems
      • A background in piezoelectric-based products is desirable but not necessary
      • Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related field
      • Hands on experience with new product design and manufacturing
        • Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team
        • Breadth of technical experience; prefer background in more than one industry: Ceramics (particularly piezoelectric materials), Oil and Gas, Aerospace, automotive
        • Ability to coordinate resources such as Government Labs, Academia, Customers
        • Strong communication skills, able to communicate well with technical and non-technical audiences
        • Demonstrate and foster a sense of urgency and accountability
        • Self-starter with a strong bias for results
        • Ability to drive an atmosphere that supports new ideas and initiatives
        • Collaborative and effective team player with ability to motivate, inspire and influence
        • Strong sense of integrity, strong work ethic, and high level of energyEducation and Experience:
          • Master's degree from leading university in engineering discipline with business experience
