Senior Hardware Engineer: What You'll Do
Working as part of the Hardware and Systems Team in the Product Department, you will help create the hardware infrastructure, such as mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic systems for our autonomy by designing, validating, and integrating electrical and mechanical components to the system. You will wear many hats and learn skills in a variety of fields. You will work with a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team to accomplish set goals with plenty of mentorship opportunities.
Here's a snapshot of what your role would look like:

• Define high-level system and project requirements.
• Lead development efforts/mentor less-experienced engineers.
• Create/Edit CAD files, assemblies.
• Design, debug circuits.
• Coordinate with external suppliers, manufactures.
• Design, prototype and test mechanical components and electrical circuits.
• Procure, test and validate different sensors.
• Perform microcontroller programming and scripting.
• Partner with the A&M team to create hardware designs,evaluate sensor choices, and prototype testing methods.
• Work with the Production Team to define, manufacturing and assembly procedures for contract manufacturing.
• Work with Quality Assurance & Field Engineers to define validation tests.
• Coordinate with the Software team to integrate new components. Senior Hardware Engineer: What We're Looking For

  When reviewing resumes we'll be looking to see that you have:
  • At least 4 years of robotics, mechatronics or mechanical engineering experience, including but not limited to part modeling, simulation, design for manufacture, and tolerancing
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Design tools, such as Solidworks
  • Expertise with Rapid Prototyping: 3D Printing, Laser Cutting, CNC Machining
  • Foundational programming knowledge
  • Experience sourcing relevant components
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate within and across teams Compensation and Benefits
    This is a full-time position. As a Level 3, Individual Contributor role, our salary is $125,000 and is based on market data aligned with our strategic approach to compensation. In addition to cash, you'll receive equity and be eligible to enroll in our benefits package which includes health/vision/dental insurance (available from day one!), 401K, vacation time, family leave, and more!
