Biomedical/Biomechanical Associate for our Biomedical Engineering
and Sciences Practice in Philadelphia. In this role you will work
as part of a team to create solutions to clients' most difficult
problems in the biomedical engineering and life sciences space. You
will be responsible for:
- Managing and executing specific biomechanics, biomaterials, and
implant testing projects related to orthopedic, spinal,
cardiovascular, and other medical devices
- Actively participating in Exponent's medical device consulting,
including analyzing orthopedic implant systems, assessing retrieved
devices for corrosion and other degradative damage modes, and
testing implant materials and systems
- Performing technical evaluations, analysis, and testing on the
behalf of multinational medical device companies for FDA
submissions and consulting in intellectual property and product
liability litigation
- Publishing at conferences and in peer-reviewed literature and
presenting at conferences
- Assisting in marketing the group's technical capabilities to
clients and the scientific community
- Ability to develop additional expertise and gain additional
industry exposure through our unique technical consulting services
You will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering, Corrosion/Electrochemistry or a related engineering
field
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Highly motivated self-starter with entrepreneurial values
- Experience with developing and executing complex mechanical
tests of implants, biomaterials, and corrosion testing highly
desirable
- Demonstrated capabilities with materials characterization
techniques (e.g., SEM, EDS, TEM, FTIR, interferometry,
metrology)
- Research experience applicable to medical devices highly
