In your Sr Mechanical Engineer role, you'll help us deliver better care for billions of people around the world.
Responsibilities:Safety:

  • Support the loss control improvement process by complying with critical safety rules
  • Visibly demonstrate that safety is a value by following safety procedures, maintaining a safe workplace and complying with safety rules.
  • Ensure that the development of processes, standards and equipment meets safety codes, policies and guidelines
  • Support site safety initiatives thru participation and leadership in safety action teams
  • Develop expertise in the Kimberly Clark (KC) safety technical standard and its applicationQuality:
    • Support improvement initiatives towards process capability and quality improvements.
    • Provide expertise where applicable to align equipment, products, processes, materials, systems, and procedures to achieve business objectives.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.People:
      • Manage yourself in accordance with the KC Values and Ways of Working
      • Mentor and build capability of other engineering team members within the assigned area.
      • Participate in the development of maintenance resource technical knowledge in the incumbent's area of expertise.Delivery/Cost:
        • Provide technical support and expertise to designated manufacturing assets in the converting areas
        • Design and Development: Provides guidance in the initiation, design, optimization and development of manufacturing and supporting processes to achieve unit objectives. Specifically, to include projects that achieve significant cost savings improvements (YOY).
        • Work with area teams to support and drive overall business, mill, and department goals.
        • Actively participate in daily accountability processes for assigned support area
        • Lead mill-wide cost transformation and sustainability initiatives.
        • Lead/facilitate/support problem solving on chronic mechanical, safety, or large acute process related issues to determine root cause and resolution plans
        • Develop knowledge and skills so as to be recognized for expertise and functional leadership in application of mechanical engineering principles, scientific analysis and project management while providing advice and counsel to others.
        • Support converting asset objectives to ensure delivery of yearly metrics
        • Project Dimensions: project responsibility of $1 MM to $30 MM, project team of three to thirty people, single or multiple projects
        • Work with Operations Leadership to plan and support asset down execution process.
        • Through tactical execution of daily activities support efforts to deliver 3% year on year reduction in spending by embracing and fostering a culture of loss prevention and control to drive continuous improvement in the reduction of breakdowns and other losses across the site asset base.

          To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
          • Candidates must possess a bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited College or University and have a minimum of 10 years' experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments. Candidates with an Associate degree in a relevant scientific discipline with an equivalent 20+ years applicable experience may also be considered.
          • A demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve project results within required timeframes.
          • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
          • 10+ years of experience in a variety of plant and staff assignments, including maintenance and operations support.
          • Experience working across multiple manufacturing technologies, e.g. continuous winding, packaging and conveying technologies.
          • Demonstrated knowledge in: pneumatic and hydraulic system design, application and troubleshooting, power and transmission systems, pumps and process piping, web handling, reliability technologies and tools, mechanical design and software usage, failure analysis, CMMS systems experience (SAP)
          • Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor other engineering team members
          • Subject matter expertise in converting operation and optimization
          • Strong fundamentals in engineering systems and tools in order to drive technical innovation
          • Experience working with external technical service providers.
          • Incumbent would possess demonstrated ability to organize, influence and lead a multi-functional team and foster a proactive team environment without direct authority.
