Brief DescriptionClarionDoor - A Zywave Company provides a best-in-class, cloud-based, SaaS platform for distributing property & casualty insurance, including a range of products from pricing, forms and web service management, to reporting/analytics and more.We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who has some in Amazon Web Services, is detail-oriented, and can help us streamline processes and automate them where applicable.This person will work in conjunction with like-minded people in our software and security engineering departments to securely deploy and manage our infrastructure, associated processes and systems. Will also automate deployment of applications, system configurations and security settings, as well as fairly prioritize requests from our operations, development, and product teams.
What You Will Do

  • Architect, build, and deliver complex software applications and systems within our AWS Cloud environment.
  • Identify opportunities and implement solutions to further improve the platform by applying engineering principles to infrastructure and applications in the form of IaC (Terraform, Cloud Formation), CI/CD, automation, etc.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering to create and handle build/deployment pipelines for continuous integration and continuous delivery to improve the quality and availability of business products (Git, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, etc.).
  • Provide technical expertise and drive the entire DevOps lifecycle - Orchestration (ECS, Kubernetes, EKS), Configuration Management (Ansible, Salt, Chef), CI/CD, Monitoring, and Security.
  • Develop new processes to optimize performance and improve systems; implement industry best practices (AWS, Agile, DevOps, security, etc.).
  • Regularly audit infrastructure to ensure, resolve and/or improve automation (Python, Bash); adherence to best practices; security; patches/updates; cost-optimization; performance.
  • Coordinate with Security Engineering to prioritize and delegate related responsibilities to engineers.
  • Design and implement end-to-end monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure the health and performance of production applications (CloudWatch, New Relic, Splunk, PagerDuty, Grafana, etc.,).
  • Plan and prioritize technical work and assignments; drive and contribute to multi-dimensional projects across multiple teams.
  • Provide technical expertise, leadership and support to engineering/infrastructure teams and automating processes to improve developer productivity and optimize the reliability of operations.
  • Coach, mentor and lead the team in accordance with agile methodology and
  • thought leadership; identify and support recruiting efforts.

    • 5 years of relevant experience
    • AWS (3 years minimum)
    • IAC (Terraform, Cloudformation, 3 years min)
    • Build and Release (CodeBuild/CodePipeline, Jenkins, 2 years min)
    • System design and implementation (2 years minimum)
    • Docker orchestration
    • Python Automation
    • Security (Infra, App and Cloud)
    • Monitoring and alerting
    • Ability to understand and design CI/CD pipelines
    • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future
