way Won---t you join us? Job Purpose: The ideal candidate will be
results-driven and motivated by technical challenges. In this role
you will use your chemical, materials and technical expertise,
working closely with the Business Unit leads, Marketing, Sales, and
Manufacturing to execute new product development projects and
technical service requests. You will develop multiple foam products
or process technologies and suggest project directions for both
technology and commercial implementation. The role requires high
initiative, problem-solving and project management skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to cooperate closely
with customers and across internal functions are essential. A
passion for technology and the high affinity to understanding
customer needs and application requirements are important.
Relocation considered. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work
closely with Business Unit leads, Marketing, Sales and directly
with Customers to execute New Product Development projects and
Technical Service requests Lead R&D projects to develop
multiple foam products or process technologies. Suggest project
directions for both technology and commercial implementation
Conduct, analyze and report on physical property testing of
materials to resolve technical issues and/or identify new
applications Participate in the selection, qualification, testing
and failure analysis of materials and processes Be proficient and
run / maintain analytical equipment such as GC MS, GPC, titrators,
DMA, DSC, FTIR, etc. Prepare technical and progress reports on
assigned projects Participate in key internal and customer
presentations Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
Bachelor---s degree, MS or PhD in Chemical Engineering or closely
related field is required. PhD preferred 10 years--- experience in
Chemical Engineering or similar related discipline 2 or more
years--- experience in polyurethanes technology applications and/or
formulation experience is preferred Experience in a lab and/or test
environment Knowledge of materials and processes for product
development, design, application and production Strong analytical
thinking and trouble-shooting aptitude Excellent written and verbal
communication skills Demonstrated ability in providing technical
support to customers Demonstrated ability to work in a
collaborative, cross-functional team-based environment Ability and
experience managing projects with both internal and external
resources Strong prioritization and time management skills,
extremely organized, detail oriented and ability to manage multiple
projects at the same time Proficient in PC use, including Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Advanced Excel skills and Microsoft
Project experience preferred. Minitab experience a plus Travel
10-20% This individual should have the business depth to interface
with senior leaders across the organization as well as the
communication and influence skills to build strong relationships
and drive results company-wide. She/he should be innovative,
team-oriented, as well as have the desire to participate in a
fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities. Passion
