We are looking for a senior engineer to join our research and development team to mature and extend our simulation capabilities. Simulation is a key component to many processes at Exyn, and its uses include (but are not limited to) rapid prototyping, testing, and synthetic training environments for machines and people alike.
In this role, you will be:

• Modeling or integrating high-fidelity sensor, vehicle and environment models to facilitate autonomous vehicle development. This may include:
• Leveraging tools to solve ordinary or partial differential equations in real-time
• Integrating photo-realistic, large-scale environments for simulated exploration
• Modeling adverse environmental conditions to include dust, rain and wind.
• Implementing a framework to support simulations of multi-robot systems.
• Performing a trade-space study of available commercial and open-source simulation frameworks to determine feasibility for integration/adoption.
• Working with a world-class team of roboticists and engineers to setup simulation-based regression tests that translate to proper system performance in the real-world.
• Specifying hardware requirements to support scalable, high-fidelity simulation.
• Integrating simulation environments with virtual or augmented reality headsets
  What We're Looking For:
  • A B.S. in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years industry experience working with high-fidelity simulation frameworks.
  • 5+ years of experience writing modular, reusable, well-documented code in C++
  • Someone who is comfortable working in an agile development environment.
  • Strong mathematical foundations that include calculus, ordinary differential equations, physics and probability and statistics.
  • Familiarity with common sensor models found in robotics including: Inertial Measurement Units, 3D LIDAR, EO/IR Cameras
  • Strong communication skills
    We would also like to hear if you have:
    • Experience with AirSim, Gazebo, or other robotics-oriented simulation frameworks
    • Experience spinning up and gathering results from simulations in the cloud
    • Game development experience with Unreal or Unity engines
    • Experience with parallelizing algorithms for GPU acceleration
    • Worked with some subset of the following libraries:
    • Boost (especially ASIO), Eigen, ZeroMQ, CMake, Bullet, DART
    • Fly quadrotors
