Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and
minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required.
Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be
considered. Serve as a Special Education Teacher in an early
childhood school setting, focusing on supporting students with
autism in a non-verbal self-contained classroom. This contract
position, located in Trenton, NJ, involves working with a
high-needs student population in Pre-K through 1st grade. The role
offers an opportunity to contribute to a specialized program
designed to promote functional behavior, communication, and
independence for each student. Responsibilities include: -
Delivering individualized instruction and support for 68 students
in classrooms dedicated to autism education - Collaborating with a
multidisciplinary team including BCBA, occupational therapists,
physical therapists, and paraprofessionals - Promoting
communication and functional behavior development for students who
are often nonverbal - Implementing evidence-based strategies and
adapting methods to meet diverse student needs - Maintaining clear
documentation and participating in team meetings to monitor student
progress Qualifications and experience: - Valid certification such
as TOSD with PREK-3 or K-6, or TOH required - Proven experience
working with students with autism, particularly those with
nonverbal challenges - Familiarity with strategies to support
functional behavior and communication development - Ability to work
effectively within a team of educators and therapists - Commitment
to fostering student growth and independence in a structured
educational environment Location & hours: - Position based in
Trenton, NJ - Elementary school hours: 8:30 AM 3:30 PM - Contract
length: Non-School Year (NSY) This role is ideal for educators
