JOB TITLE: Adjunct Associate Professor Summary: The Museum Studies Department at University of the Arts is seeking adjunct faculty to lead courses in a newly revised MA in Museum Studies. Positions require collaboration with other faculty members. • Develop course syllabus appropriate to face-to-face and/or remote learning context
• Complete and submit all required materials, including syllabus and student grades
• Ensure quality of student work is strong, appropriate, and meets the expectations set forth in the program
• Set tone for the class, establishes guidelines and protocols for behavior and classroom activity, and provide instruction that meets the needs of all learners for face-to-face and/or remote learning context
• Contribute ideas for improving current class or creating new initiatives and effectively resolves challenges that arise in their classroom
• Establish an inclusive environment in the classroom and demonstrates an understanding of, and sensitivity to, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of the University's faculty, staff, and students
• Demonstrate a sense of connection and responsibility for helping UArts achieve success through a commitment to its mission, vision, and values
• Return telephone calls and email messages from program administration in timely manner

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant field or equivalent experience in relevant fields Experience:
    • Experience with museums and/or other cultural institutions
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Previous teaching experience and/or genuine interest in working with students and helping them develop knowledge/skills
