Computational DesignThe Department of Architecture at Thomas
Jefferson University, together with the College of Architecture and
the Built Environment (CABE), seeks candidates for a full-time,
9-month, Assistant Professor in computational design. The position
is available on a Tenure-track or Teacher/Practice Scholar
Track.The College aspires to complement a collegial faculty with an
individual capable of advancing critical areas of computational
design across all its departments and programs. The position will
be expected to develop critical insights into these relevant areas
of the curriculum and to teach in studio, lecture and seminar
courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.We seek applicants
whose work and lived experiences will expand our intellectual
diversity. We value applicants whose work elevates marginalized
voices, embraces the humanistic dimensions of design, and engages
their intersection with technology. We encourage individuals from

QualificationsCandidates must possess one of the following
categories of acceptable academic credentials:
- a combination of a professional bachelor's and a master's
degree; or
- a doctorate.Degrees should be in Architecture or a closely
related discipline. Foreign equivalents to U.S. degrees are
acceptable. Uniquely qualified candidates without the minimum
academic credentials - who hold a professional license in
architecture, exemplify exceptional professional experience, and
present widely-recognized professional work - will also be
considered.Desired QualificationsWe will consider applicants who
are advancing the field of computational design through critical
practice or research scholarship. We are open to interpretations of
this charge including, but not limited to, speculative computation,
technological equity, data as an agent of change, advanced digital
fabrication, the creation of intelligent design tools, inclusive
design, extended reality, or other humanistic dimensions of design
and their intersection with technology.Special consideration will
be given to candidates who have demonstrated success in teaching
architectural design studios, seminar classes and / or lecture
classes in computational design. Candidates should have classroom
experience in using advanced digital software and technologies
related to the discipline.ResourcesWe encourage candidates at the

computational design and spatial justice.
