Social Media Coordinator, Professional Service Specialist 3 Job no: ****** Work type: Regular full time Location: Glassboro, New Jersey Categories: Professional Summary: Rowan University seeks a Social Media Coordinator to join our Enrollment Management & Marketing team within the Division of Student Affairs. This full-time position will meet the growing needs for community management and social media content creation to support the University's brand as it pertains to recruitment and retention. Description: The selected candidate will work within a collaborative environment, receiving day-to-day guidance from the Assistant Director of Social Media, and working alongside a small team of digital content creators and recruitment staff. The team reports to the Assistant Vice President of Recruitment. We are looking for a social media professional with a creative mindset and knack for customer service. This position requires expertise in social media, content development and analytics, and the ability to use technology to engage constituents based on data and forward-thinking philosophies. This role requires superior written and verbal communication skills, as the incumbent will collaborate with members of the University Relations and Recruitment Marketing team and other key communicators to increase the brand's digital fluency and contribute to the overall recruitment and retention efforts of the University. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Monitoring, engaging and interacting with the University's social media communities on a daily basis and serving as an extension of the campus experience as it relates to customer service. * Assisting in creating content for a 365-day social media content calendar for message propagation across all social media platforms, as well as developing new messages in real-time based on current events, while adhering to the University's voice and standards of image/message consistency. * Researching and implementing the latest industry social media best practices, and defining new and creative approaches to communicating via social media outlets. * Assisting in communication support by collaborating with University Relations consistently regarding breaking news, crisis communication and other announcements. * Assisting the Assistant Director of Social Media in rewriting the University's social media strategy to expand and strengthen the University's recruitment and retention efforts. * Assisting the Assistant Director of Social Media in the reinforcement of a social media policy and social media graphic standards. * Contributing to a variety of web-based projects as needed with Strategic Enrollment Management and University Relations teams. * Some evening and weekend hours possibly required. QUALIFICATIONS: Required All applicants must have the following qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent education. * Two (2) years of professional experience in the marketing field, preferably with an emphasis in social media, content creation and analytics. * Proficient in all social media platforms including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube LinkedIn and Pinterest. * A strong customer service orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Understanding of web-based technologies including content management systems. * Ability to work independently AND as part of a larger team; solving problems with minimal supervision. * Experience interacting with end users and project clients (those with or without technical skill). * Skillful in creative problem solving and resolving conflict. * Deadline-oriented & works well under pressure. * Ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects. Desired: * Experience with Sprout Social. * Experience with photography. * Experience with producing content within a higher education environment.
