The Receptionist/Scheduler in the Lewis Katz School of
Medicine's Ophthalmology department reports to the Operations
Manager for all office issues.
Specific responsibilities include: greeting, scheduling, and
obtaining vital patient information; Verifying and entering patient
insurance and demographic information while scheduling
appointments; Performing all Check-in and Check-out duties,
including full registrations, updating registration, insurance
eligibility, collecting co-pays and answering phones; Scanning PHI
into EPIC; handling My Temple Health Inquires; providing prompt
customer service to students, parents, employees, and other
University Departments; Answering telephone and email messages
within 24 hours to ensure timely resolution of problem accounts;
preparing end of the day batch and reconciliation of monies taken
and ensuring referrals and copay collection for all visits. Perform
other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
At least five years' experience working in a medical setting such
as a Physician's Office, Hospital, Medical School/College, and/or
Medical Practice. An equivalent combination of education and
experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities
*Must be able to travel to offsite locations that may not be
accessible by public transportation.
*Demonstrated knowledge of Third Party Billing.
*Demonstrated knowledge of GE and EPIC software.
*Demonstrated ability to multi-tasks in a very busy, hectic
*Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
*Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
*Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
*Demonstrated ability to work independently particularly during
