difference:The Charge Nurse (RN) is an advanced level practical
nurse who collaborates with the Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing,
Program Director, Unit/Floor Manager, and physicians to plan,
direct, and evaluate patient care. Utilizing expert clinical
knowledge, the Charge Nurse systematically and continuously applies
data collection and assessment in collaboration with the
multidisciplinary team to provide therapeutic care. Additionally,
the Charge Nurse communicates regularly with physicians and direct
care leadership, serving as a role model and clinical resource
while maintaining responsibility for professional development
within the nursing team.Key Responsibilities:Initiate and
facilitate collaboration among healthcare professionals to enhance
patient care outcomes, effectively communicating with the medical
staff, clinical team, Nursing and Program Leadership to solve
complex multidisciplinary issues.Coordinate patient admissions,
transfers, and discharges, ensuring effective delegation and
supervision of workload among team members based on their skills
and abilities. Communicate with referring facilities and emergency
medical services regarding incoming patients.Ensure adherence to
infection control policies and procedures, providing guidance and
support to staff on infection control practices. May oversee the
infection control program within the facility.Foster patient
responsibility and self-determination in decision-making regarding
health, treatment, and well-being. Involve patients and their
families in identifying learning needs and preparing for self-care
upon discharge.Act as a leader by participating in unit and/or
departmental quality assurance activities, debriefing following
incidents, implementing corrective actions prescribed by the
Director of Nursing (DON), and maintaining appropriate boundaries
with patients. Consistently communicate positively and
professionally with staff, patients, and visitors.Qualifications &
Requirements:EducationRegistered Nurse (RN) Degree from an
accredited school of nursing; is a basic requirement for all
Registered Nurses.Experience2 to 4 years of experience as an RN,
such as could have been attained in long-term care, med/surg or
inpatient psychiatry, or similar setting that has provided the
knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform satisfactorily
the duties of the position may be considered.2 years of
increasingly responsible leadership experience to include charge,
lead or supervisory responsibilities. (Preferred)2 years of
inpatient psychiatry experience

unrestricted license as an RN in the state of employment
