full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor

commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on
multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description Liberty Mutual has an immediate opening for an Auditor,
Underwriting Specialized Services to join our Compliance Unit. It
this role, you will apply expertise to review and analyze claim
files to determine compliance with claim handling guidelines,
programs and procedures. Review and analyze the Claims/Loss
handling standards, capabilities, and best practices of various
Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), Self-Administered programs
(SAPs), and Risk Management operations which underlie Liberty
Mutual's Primary and Excess coverages. This includes analyzing a
broad assortment of Loss exposures, claims files, and historical
loss runs (WC, GL & Auto Liability) to assess the quality of the
handling, and determine if it meets industry and Liberty Mutual
standards. Includes travels to TPAs, SAPs, prospects, insured's,
and broker locations, and meeting with Claims Managers, Defense
Counsel, and financial personnel within the organizations to
acquire a knowledge of how the Risk Management departments is
organized and claims are reported and managed. The ideal location
for this position is in a GRS Claims Office. You will be required
to go into the office twice a month if you reside within 50 miles
of one of the following offices: Bala Cynwyd, PA; Boston, MA;
Chicago, IL; Hoffman Estates, IL; Indianapolis, IN; Lake Oswego,
OR; Las Vegas, NV; Plano, TX; Suwanee, GA; Syracuse, NY; Tampa, FL;
or Weatogue, CT. Please note this policy is subject to change. Job
Responsibilities: Audits a full range of claims files including
complex cases, bankruptcy cases, litigated claims and long-term
exposures to assess handling, determine reserve adequacy, defense
strategies, and opportunities for settlements and closed cases to
gauge potential of reopening. Prepares Formal Audit reports to
internal stakeholders on results of audits. Conducts follow-up
meetings and/or conference calls to monitor and update ongoing
issues. Supports Underwriting in prospecting and renewal efforts by
reviewing loss runs and identifying claims which may present
Liberty Mutual with exposures within excess policy layers. Conducts
file audits at the request of the UWSS Director on behalf of
Underwriting, Legal, Collections & Loss Billing, etc. to identify
claims issues and/or assess the adequacy of short-term & long-term
reserves, positions for defense & settlement, applicability of
Clash Deductibles, and the erosion/exhaustion of Corridor
Deductibles and Excess Indemnity/Basket Aggregates. Conduct audits
by special request from UWSS Management, Underwriting, Sales
Distribution, Collections & Billing or Legal to address concerns or
specific claims handling issues. Participates in Mid-Term Account
Reviews (MTAR) and other forums to provide commentary on audit
results and claims issues at the account level. Participates in
calibration training and development of audit results reports.
Provides meaningful remediation/action plans for quality assurance
reports, regional and state audit failures, and other audit issues.

Participates in calibration and/or re-testing to determine whether
the remediation/action plans developed were successfully
implemented and corrected previously identified issues. Conducts a
variety of reviews for various departments throughout the year that
include analyses of TPA or SAP claims, Clash Deductibles, Corridor
Deductibles, Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist claims, Loss Portfolio
Transfer (LPT), and Buy-out potential. Maintains the UWSS server
and updates action items included in tracking sheets for Un-Bundled
and Non-Standard XS Programs. Arranges travel requirements as
needed and processes expense account reimbursement requests. Tracks
expenses to conform to budget guidelines. Qualifications Bachelor's
degree or equivalent training required. Minimum 5 - 7 years or
progressively more responsible and related experience required.
Compliance background preferred. Self-Administered Programs and/or
Third-Party Administrators knowledge and experience preferred.
Experience with Loss Runs (Workers Compensation, General Liability
and Auto Liability) required. Demonstrated proficiency with Excel.
Strong written and oral communication skills required. Ability to
report and present to all-level Business Partners. Strong
interpersonal and analytical skills required. Comprehensive
knowledge of Claims Department handling guidelines, policies,
procedures and programs required. Knowledge of assigned line of
business, general insurance policy coverage and State Tort Law.
