Associate Director will lead key financial administration, business
planning, and budgeting associated with Optum Health Solutions. The
Associate Director role will be an advisor, evaluating and
assisting with financial plans and economic modeling. The role will
also be responsible for overseeing staff and be involved in
strategic planning, evaluation, and professional development of
employees. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from
anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. -
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interface with business leaders and build strong relationships
in support of financial planning and performance measurement
including reporting and analysis; act as a strategic thought
partner for the business
- Collaborate across Optum businesses to provide financial
support for Optum Specialty Fusion
- Coordinate intersegment agreements between Optum and UHC
entities along with understanding the financial impacts
- Participate in and oversee month-end close and the quarterly
forecast processes
- Produce clear, well-formatted reports that communicate a clear,
compelling message for their stakeholders
- Mentor and develop team members, managing work allocation,
training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the
building of an effective team dynamic
- Partner with BU & segment finance to ensure cost management and
investments are reasonable and aligned with defined performance
targets and financial thresholds
- Proactively seek opportunities to improve processes and
identify areas of improvement
- Lead development of business / financial case for specific
initiatives, capital investments and new business
opportunities
- Analyze and maintain monthly product P&Ls and review
results with leadership; able to understand a full risk
P&L
- Partner with business leaders and functional partners in
development of risk programs to help accelerate growth for the

Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related
field
- 5+ years of progressive financial planning and analysis
experience
- Supervisory experience -
- Experience prioritizing & managing demanding workloads with
concurrent deadlines
- Knowledge of GAAP, fundamental financial concepts and
procedures
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (Pivot
tables, VLOOKUP's, Macros)
- Natural curiosity to learn more, dig into details, understand
key drivers of our business -
- Ability to use proper discretion when dealing with confidential
information exhibiting a high level of integrity
- Ability to manage and synthesize large amounts of data
Preferred Qualifications:
- PeopleSoft Experience, Hyperion SmartView and/or Essbase
- Excellent interpersonal relationship building and communication
(written and verbal) skills
- Assertive, self-starting personality with a customer service
attitude
- Ability to analyze complex data and make decisions and clearly
articulate reasons for making a decision -
- Ability to work in a matrixed organization and with
cross-functional partners

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range
for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for
Connecticut / Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based
on several factors including but not limited to education, work
experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary,
