Canon Financial Services, Inc. (CFS) located in Mount Laurel, NJ is currently seeking a Collections Supervisor (Supervisor, Collections). The Collections Supervisor will assist in the management of the Collections team. Lead a team of Collection Associates to achieve monthly objectives. Responsible for the collection of lease payments, miscellaneous charges, late charges and renewal charges on delinquent accounts that are both active and disposed. Maintain high visibility within the Canon family for our customers and dealers. Provide superior customer service by effectively interacting with other departments, customers and Canon partners to ensure customer needs are met and activities are completed accurately and timely. Provide additional assistance to the team and assist with mentoring and developing the team.


- Supervise a team of Collection associates to ensure the Strategic Departmental Goals are achieved
- Responsible for overseeing all collection activities on accounts for customers identified as part of that team
- Develop and execute department strategy for the team to achieve department results. Ensure that cost benefit analysis of the team is monitored. Collection efforts focused on total charges due which consist of auxiliary charges (late and miscellaneous charges) on both active and disposed leases
- Develop and evaluate the team on key department metrics (e.g. delinquency, dollars collected, late fees)
- Provide daily leadership to collections staff to meet expectations and promote a team environment. Lead and direct the work of others
- Has strong understanding of applicable CFS processes, able to take ownership and resolve complex problems, identify recurring issues and possible root causes, and capable of recommending and implementing improvement ideas to management that will provide additional efficiencies to the business
- Identify reporting needs of the department: create, develop, analyze data and present to management findings
- Cross functional interaction between departments to ensure the timely collection/clean-up of miscellaneous charges
- Mentor and train associates and strengthen working relationships within the servicing department
- Providing associates timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing associates to their fullest potential to enhance career growth; recognizing and rewarding associates for accomplishments
- Participate in both mid-year and end of year performance appraisals
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected, based on prior experiences, to effectively service our customers
- Demonstrate high ethical standards, maintain optimism and promote team spirit. Flexible and understands that additional hours beyond the 7.5-hour workday may be needed to meet business needs.
Actively participate in Talent Acquisition
- Participate in and take a leadership role in project teams and other business initiatives as requested


- Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area
- Requires 5+ years' experience in Collections/Customer Service, and 3 years of Supervisory experience
- Experience creating and delivering data/findings to Department leaders
- Must have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and clearly
- Achieve all goals, as assigned monthly
- Create and implement process improvements. Provide reporting, analysis and recommendation for next steps
- Review and Resolve Account Delinquency/Open Items and achieve all goals
- Collect Outstanding Miscellaneous and Late Charges
- Creating and maintaining reporting: identifying and creating action plans for trends/patterns
- Execute strategic/department strategy
- Negotiate settlements out outstanding balances when applicable
- Foster collaborative environment
- Acts as a role model for associate behavior, displaying a consistently positive and respectful attitude
- Mentor associates and assist with ongoing support
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse functional team
