The position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and oversees a staff of three. The Director is responsible for all aspects of domestic and international taxes, including strategic tax planning, compliance and accounting for income taxes. A successful Director of Tax will:

• Be responsible for tax planning and documentation of tax policies and positions reached, including research and writing of memorandums;
• Ensure proper application of accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) and other accounting pronouncements; including preparing all calculations and disclosures; retention of appropriate documentation to support calculations and conclusions;
• Oversee all domestic and foreign aspects required for the timely completion and accurate preparation and filing of all federal, state and local, and foreign income tax returns prepared by co-source provider;
• Oversee all domestic and foreign aspects required for the timely completion and accurate preparation and filing of all federal, state and local, and foreign transactional tax filings (e.g. annual reports, sales and use, gross receipts, etc.) prepared internally;
• Liaise with internal accounting department and off-site finance personnel to compile data and perform inquiries relative to the tax provision and tax return processes;
• Identify tax savings opportunities throughout the tax return process.
• Work with co-source provider to identify appropriate changes due to address evolving tax regulatory environments and statutes;
• Oversee examinations by tax authorities, in unison with co-source provider, and resolve disputes that arise thereto. Requirements:
  • Masters in Taxation is highly preferred
  • CPA required
  • Minimum of 7-10 years combined public accounting and/or corporate experience with emphasis on tax planning and compliance in a multinational/multi-state environment
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to interact and team with other management members of the finance team and co-source providers
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills
  • Strong process and project management skills, including ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to take ownership of the tax function and drive projects to successful completion
