About The PositionTitle AccountantThe Accountant reports to the Senior Director of Financial & Trust Administration and performs all core accounting functions for all financial categories in the organization. In addition, this role will serve as the lead for insurance, and finally provide support for the overall financial and operational functions of the organization.Roles And ResponsibilitiesFinancial & Trust AdministrationFiscal Responsibility under the direction of the Senior Director of Financial & Trust Administration, support, and operate with fidelity, the financial resources of the organization and the familyAccounting Functions support all core accounting functions including, but not limited to, preparing monthly close, reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting, account analysis, and ledger maintenanceBanking and Credit Cards monitor bank accounts, manage cash balances, advise funding needs, and retrieve monthly online statements (banking accounts and credit cards)Accounts Payable process vendor invoices, employee expense reimbursements, and trust distributions, and be responsible for the year-end 1099 processPayables Calendar complete ownership of payables calendar including proactively maintain and follow the payables calendarPurchases review codes, prepare and post journal entries, and reconcile as neededCompliance provide all compliance information required by banking institutionsTax assist with year-end income tax compliance with outside providers for family tax returnsBudgets assist in managing the budgets for family members and their entities and coordinate with property managers to prepare budgetsReporting develop and prepare financial reports for all stakeholders and to support management ?decision-makingInternal Review assist in the annual internal review of trusts' expendituresPartnership & Relationship Management initiate, build, and maintain relationships with multiple banking institutions and CLIENT employees Administration & Family ServicesInsurance facilitate insurance processes and serve as a liaison to vendors for the Family and the CLIENTHuman Resources assist with the implementation of human resources operations functions (primarily managed through vendors) including, but not limited to, administration, compliance, payroll, and benefits & compensationAdministration assist with processes to ensure the (future) NewCo organizational entity maintains organizational compliance with legal requirements to operate in good standing and functions needed to operate as a businessManagement of personal finances, property/assets, family employees, personal advancement, risk, and security; this will be accomplished by focusing on achieving a level of operational excellence, identifying economies of scale in services, and maintaining an eye towards the future.All Staff ResponsibilitiesProfessional Development maintain skills and knowledge of industry standards, legal requirements, and trends, as well as advise organizational leadership of anticipated changes that could impact the organizationTeam Coverage assist with the responsibilities and after standard business hours coverage of other team members/consultants in their absenceOrganizational Involvement participate as an engaged member of the organization (CLIENT) beyond core responsibilities including, but not limited to, participating in training/professional development, attending all staff meetings/events, and supporting work to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organizationOrganizational Launch support the founding of the new organization, adapt to changing circumstances, and acknowledge that direct and oversight responsibilities may evolveRequirementsCANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS We look forward to the range of professional experiences that candidates provide, and at minimum, meet these qualificationsEducation Bachelor's degree in AccountingProfessional Experience demonstrate at least 3-5 years of accounting and financial reporting ?experience with knowledge and proficiency in applying accounting practices and principlesTechnology ability to integrate technology into work, proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, ?Excel, and PowerPoint) and proficient with at least one accounting software package?In addition, we seek candidates who demonstrate these preferred qualificationsRelationship Development ability to initiate, develop, and maintain positive relationships, while maintaining awareness of the levels of relationships within the organizationTeam Player collaborative and supportive of others with diverse backgrounds and skill setsDEI Focus demonstrated experience and interest in supporting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive ?organizationBanking & Credit Cards previous experience working with banking institutions and credit card ?companies as well as electronic statementsInsurance previous experience working insurance policiesService Oriented desire to be part of an organization in service to others and demonstrate a high ?level of customer serviceSelf-Starter ability to self-manage and to constantly look for better ways to operate and improve ?efficiency and effectivenessDetail & Organization strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize ?multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detailCommunication and Confidentiality strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to ?handle confidential information with discretionFlexibility ability to quickly pivot and thrive in a fluid environment, with flexibility in scheduling for ?occasional night or weekend events as well as overnight travelDIVERSITY EQUITY AND INCLUSION STATEMENTCLIENT is being founded as, an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
