Job Description:

The Staff Accountant will perform a wide range of accounting work, which includes reconciliation and payment of freight invoices, reconciliation of cash balances and the accounting related to expense reimbursements and corporate credit cards. The role also performs various journal entries, general ledger reconciliations and other projects as assigned. The role will support the finance department in providing timely and accurate financial results to management and providing value to various business segments.REQUIREMENTS:Experience: -- Minimum 2 years of responsibility in accounting functions, preferably in a manufacturing environment.-- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.Education:-- Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited University.Skills:-- Knowledge of GAAP.-- Strong analytical and general accounting skills.-- Proficiency in Microsoft office packages with Intermediate to Advanced skills in Excel.-- Knowledge of accounting software systems.-- Ability to work well with other departments and customers.-- Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously within established deadlines.-- Able to identify potential problems and recommend solutions.-- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with all personnel levels.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES-- Preparation of journal entries with sufficient support documentation.-- General ledger account reconciliations and analysis.-- Assist with the monthly general ledger closing.-- Match freight bills to shipments to ensure the accuracy of the bill and prepare for payment.-- Monthly reconciliation of open freight bills. -- Work with shipping department to ensure the accuracy of the reconciliation and accrual process. -- Daily review of cash transactions.-- Monthly bank reconciliations.-- Assist in the review of expense reimbursements and posting of journal entries.-- Review, compile support and book journal entries for corporate credit cards.-- Assist in the preparation of commissions reports.-- Analyze accounting transactions for accuracy, investigate questionable data and take corrective action when necessary.-- Perform statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates and significant changes.-- Assist with annual external audit.--Complete requested materials and support schedules for the annual and interim audits.-- Assist with various department and organization special projects as assigned.
